The Big Blue Carbon Block Filter Cartridge uses high-grade activated carbon with a large surface area to provide effective carbon filtration while maintaining strong water flow.

Carbon block filtration is commonly used within whole house filtration systems to help reduce chlorine, taste, odour and selected organic compounds before water reaches your taps, showers, appliances and plumbing.

The cartridge also incorporates a sediment pre-filter screen to help capture particulate matter before water passes through the carbon media.

Make sure you select the correct cartridge length and micron rating for your existing filter housing and filtration requirements.

Activated carbon contains a large internal surface area that allows unwanted compounds to adsorb onto the carbon as water passes through the cartridge.

This helps reduce substances that can affect the taste, smell and overall quality of your water, particularly chlorine and selected organic compounds.

The carbon block design also provides additional physical filtration, with the available micron rating determining the approximate particle size the cartridge is designed to target.

The micron rating helps indicate the size of particles the filter media is capable of capturing.

For example:

• 10 Micron – larger particle filtration with generally higher flow

• 5 Micron – balanced filtration and flow

• 1 Micron – finer particle filtration

A lower micron number indicates finer filtration.

However, the micron rating alone does not determine the exact efficiency or contaminant-reduction performance of a filter cartridge. Water quality, flow rate, system configuration and cartridge media all affect overall filtration performance.

The Big Blue Carbon Block Filter Cartridge can be used in either Stage 2 or Stage 3 of a compatible multi-stage whole house filtration system.

Stage 2

When used as Stage 2, the carbon block cartridge can follow a sediment filter and help reduce chlorine, taste, odour and selected organic compounds.

Stage 3

When used as Stage 3, the carbon block cartridge can provide an additional carbon polishing stage after earlier sediment or specialty filtration.

The correct position will depend on your system configuration and the type of water treatment required.

These cartridges are designed to fit compatible Big Blue / Big White whole house and high-flow filter housings.

• 20" × 4.5"

These cartridges can be used in single-stage or multi-stage Big Blue filtration systems where the housing dimensions and cartridge specifications are compatible.
